Meet N'Gadie Roberts

Your ears, expert hands.
N'Gadie is a clinical audiologist and internationally published Australian author and poet.

As the principal audiologist at Ear Here, she holds a Master of Clinical Audiology degree from the University of Western Australia, advanced training through the Auditory Processing Institute (USA), and extensive experience working with various hearing aid manfucatrueres in Australia and overseas.

Prior to starting Ear Here, she was a clinic audiologist across reigonal and metropolitan Western Australia and later served as the acting audiology director of two audiology clinics in Cairns.

Before moving to Cairns, N'Gadie lived in Cambridge, England, where she worked as a paediatric and adult audiologist with a primary focus on APD assessment, management, and paediatric hearing care. During this time, she also completed certified training in microsuction and water irrigation ear wax removal.

Understanding Our Local Climate

As a locally based audiologist, N'Gadie understands the unique ear care needs of our tropical community. Cairns’ warm, humid climate, combined with regular swimming and water exposure, can directly impact ear health, contributing to issues like ear canal irritation, tropical fungal infections, swimmer’s ear, and stubborn wax build-up.

A Personalised, Comprehensive Approach

What sets N’Gadie apart is her background in communication, education and community services, alongside her clinical experience as an audiologist.

Her previous roles have included working as a tutor and mentor with the Western Australian Department of Communities – Child Protection Services, a District Court Interpreter, and a creative writing workshop coordinator. These experiences have given her a strong understanding of the importance of communication and the impact that hearing and auditory processing difficulties can have on everyday life.

N’Gadie combines evidence-based audiology with a warm, collaborative approach,. During your appointment she will take time to listen, explain and understand your individual needs and concerns.

A holistic approach to hearing and auditory health.

As the founder of Ear Here, N’Gadie takes a holistic approach to hearing and auditory health. For hearing aid wearers, appointments can also include a complimentary hearing device function check to ensure their devices are working appropriately.

Your complimentary hearing aid check includes:

✓ Visual inspection of your hearing aids and earmoulds

✓ Cleaning where required

✓ Checking filters and domes

✓ Confirming your devices are functioning correctly

✓ Identifying when further servicing or review may be needed.

Independent advice, focused on your needs

Ear Here does not sell hearing aids, allowing N'Gadie to provide independent advice based on your individual hearing needs.

If you have questions about your hearing, would like to review previous hearing test results, or have concerns about hearing changes, balance, tinnitus, or other related concerns, N'Gadie is happy to discuss these during your appointment and help guide you on the appropriate next steps.

At Ear Here the goal is to help you better understand your ears, your hearing, and the support available to you.
